Charles Dickens was an English writer, social critic, author of numerous short stories, novels, plays. He created some of the world's best-known fictional characters and is regarded as the greatest novelist of the Victorian era.
“Pictures from Italy” was written in 1846 and represents the travelers notes, made during Dickens’s 11-month journey through Italy. In the visiting of great cities such as Venice, Rome, Naples and other, Dickens observed the human condition, cultural specific, analyzed the soul and character of Italy.
