Real Love

She fought for her life and won. Now one year later, with only scars to remind her, Kadence Taylor is being pulled back out into the world of dating. After spending six months publicly speaking out against abuse and how women are their own strength, she’s going to put words into actions. Her best friend has talked Kae into going on a blind date with her cousin, Roark O’Neil on her birthday.
While waiting for her date to arrive, an elderly woman appears on Kae’s front porch with a strange gift-wrapped box in her hands. With a thick Irish brogue, she tells Kae that it is a special token picked just for her. With trepidation, she sets the package beneath her table top Christmas tree. Too often an upset boyfriend or husband would show their displeasure at her interference into his marriage and how he treats his wife, by sending her various threats on her life. With Christmas just a few days away, and knowing that she would be with her family and close friends soon, and without a tag on the present, she has to wonder who sent the ‘gift.’
When Roark O’Neil arrives, Kae is surprised to meet a large, yet truly gentle man. To relax, she unconsciously tests Roark. Roark, intrigued with the tall beauty, finds that after only a short time, he’s willing to show his stability within her criteria. A man that usually surrounds himself with petite woman needing constant protection, his heart and mind would fight for a strong woman who wants to take care of herself.
When she mentions the tiny gift and the old woman who delivered it, Roark, being raised in Irish traditions, becomes suspicious. Was it the mate to the one delivered to his place of business? And to whom was Kae picked to become a wife too? Without a tag, she could be meant for either Roark or his twin brother Ryker. The stone in the gift that Kae receives is a ruby, representing both boys birthstone.
Knowing that she is intended to love Roark forever, and because he’s too stubborn to realize that she is his partner she and Ryker conspired to make Roark jealous. Soon he realizes that feelings can answer questions, too.
