The Hunchback and His Two Brothers


Once on a time there was a king who had three sons. Two of them were handsome, but the third was a hunchback. His name was Alain and his father didn't love him. One day the king said to his sons that he was getting older and he would give his crown and kingdom to one who would bring the finest piece of linen. He sent his sons for a travel in terms of one year and one day. Three brothers started travelling on three different routes. Two elder brothers had each a fine horse to carry him and pockets full of gold and silver. But they forgot the quest and spent their money. The father gave only a six-franc piece to the hunchback and didn't give him any horse. What troubles did he meet on his way?
