A Vietnam Army Veteran's Story:

1966 to 1967

I trained at Fort Riley in Kansas with the 9th Division and at Fort Bragg in North Carolina with the 82nd Airborne. While in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967, I was in combat operations with the 9th Infantry Division, 196th Light Infantry Brigade, and later with the 23rd Infantry Division, the Americal Division. I was in Vung Tau, Bien Hoa, Siagon, Mekong Delta and Chu Lia, Vietnam. My 105 gun Battery was air mobile, and we were transported by Chinook helicopters to our LZ or field of operations. We supported the 5th Special Forces Group and 101st Airborne in combat operations. I returned home from the war to nothing.
