The Adventure Of The Black Lady


Aphra Behn was a British playwright, poet, translator and fiction writer from the Restoration era. As one of the first English women to earn her living by her writing, she broke cultural barriers and served as a literary role model for later generations of women authors. She wrote under the pastoral pseudonym Astrea. It is a short story about the adventure of a woman whose name is Bellamor. Her adventure starts, when she comes to London from Hampshire. The author describes different events which happen to her. She meets different people, falls in love, loses her money...but what for does she come to London? Does she want to have new feelings ? Or does she have no motive to come to this Town? There are a lot of questions which are open. In order to find the answers, you should read this exciting short story!
