I Earn My Keep

It was two nights ago, when I returned to my Paris hotel room after a business meeting with the property owners of the real estate contract that I am bidding on for my company. Just as I closed the door, there was a loud knock. When I opened it, two men burst into the room and drugged me. Yesterday, I woke up in a boarded-up room in what appears to be a very expensive villa on the Mediterranean according to the magazines I found in the room. I haven’t slept much and I am very tired, because the guards keep bursting into the room trying to rape me and I keep fighting them off. It’s sickening; I am a human being too.
Suddenly, the door opened. Oh-shit, I’m thinking, here we go again as the two guards burst into the room…. “Leave me alone,” I shouted. One guard jumped on the bed and started trying to pull up my dress while the other one grabbed my hands. Minutes later, the guard released my hands and just fell on the floor. A few seconds later, the other one who was on top of me, just suddenly fell on me. I screamed and pushed him off of me and he landed on the floor. I rose up in the bed, and looked at both men lying on the floor, wondering what had happened to them. Then, I noticed the door close. In the dark shadows behind the door, I can see the outline of a figure looking at me. “Who are you?” I shouted. The figure walked over and sat down on the edge of the bed just looking at me. “Shit,” I shouted loudly, “What are you going to do to me?” There he sat holding two long tubes in his right hand…blowguns, I suspect. He was very muscularly built and dressed from head to foot in black and all I could see was his eyes through his mask. But, right now, I am so scared; I don’t know what to do. “Are you Gloria…Gloria Winterman?” he asked. “Yes,” I said, “I am her. Who are you?” I asked again. “I am with Air Rescue,” he said. “ I have been hired by your daddy to bring you home.” Then, he pulled a locket out of his shirt pocket and handed it to me. Your daddy said you will know the locket is from him. I looked at the locket and then smiled…yes, it was mine.
