Every Moment is a New Beginning by Jaicy Ramsay is a sweet, inspirational short story that takes us through the worst day of Alissa's life. Alissa loses her job because her performance has suffered due to taking care of her ailing mother. Jeremy gave her an ultimatum to spend less time caring for her mother and more time with him. Her brother Andy, who has just turned his life around, is counting on Alissa to help pay for his first year of college. And worst of all, there are few job prospects on the horizon during the poor economy.
Alissa is considering the worst way to end her day when she sees the Timber Bridge. She can't imagine having to struggle through another day in life and has just about made up her mind to end her sorrow when she hears an interview on the radio. Mrs. Grace talks about ways to get out of depression, including having gratitude for what you do have in your life.
Mrs. Grace's three-step solution is to keep life simple, count your blessings and feel grateful, and be patient and prayerful. Alissa relates to Mrs. Grace's idea and begins to feel better about her situation, even saying thank you that she has a supportive family and letting go of the hate she has for her ex-boyfriend. As she approaches the bridge, Alissa has a big decision to make... I loved the message of this story.
