What's a Brand? Why Should I Care?

An introduction to a few marketing essentials for small and medium sized enterprises


The intended target audience is the small and medium sized owner operated enterprise that have some relationship, either directly or indirectly, with retail trade. That is; either retailers and small retail chains or associations directly or, more likely; wholesalers, distributors, jobbers, niche financiers, etc. The articles are intended as an introductory guidance through the shoals of basic marketing concepts and practice for those who found themselves and their enterprise beginning to move beyond the basic needs of a small organization into a wider, larger world where marketing consumes more time, attention and resources. The articles can; of course, apply equally to organizations within the non-profit sector where resources are often very limited and marketing experience in short supply.
