David Herbert Lawrence, 1885- 1930, was the son of a coal-miner and a mother from a family with middle-class aspirations. He was a poet, novelist, travel writer, artist, short story writer, playwright and one of the twentieth century's most prolific essayists. This ebook contains all of Lawrence's articles and essays, including 'Pornography & Obscenity' which was written as part of a debate with Viscount Brentford in 1929. The other essays range over such topics as politics, philosophy, literary criticism, the role of women and art and includes an introduction to his own paintings which were banned from public viewing in his own lifetime.
