The Sally Lightfoot Crabs are actually a family of shore-dwelling crustaceans, with several species sharing the same common name("Sally Lightfoot") though having separate scientific labels (the Sally in this book is "Grapsus grapsus"). They are probably best remembered from amateur marine biologist John Steinbeck's book, "The Log of the Sea of Cortez."
