The Magic Swan Geese


The word which means ‘fairy tale’ in Russian is transliterated into English as ‘skazka’. This term is used for a lot of literature forms, there could be a magic skazka, which resembles a fairy tale, an animal tale, some Russian fairy tales do not include anything magical and tell a tale of everyday life, the other, however, are rather ballads. Parents ask their daughter to look after her little brother while they’re away. But the sister gets distracted and the brother is abducted by the magic swan-geese. The sister begins to look for her brother and finds a lonely cabin deep in the woods, where an evil witch lives. This is a wonderful edifying and entertaining story for little children full of magic and sisterly love.
