Meanwhile, in the beautiful coastal city of Durpo, people are feeling the full force of the increasing magical flow. Revolution is in the air and, as is usually the case with revolution, those in power are none too happy about it. Three strangers are flung together by circumstance and must act fast, for if they do not, then the new magical abilities that the people of the city are so freely enjoying will destroy them all. An unjust public hanging takes the city to breaking point, and, while there is but one rope, suddenly all their lives hang in the balance. A terrifying predicament at the best of times, and this is before they must go to war.
On the other side of the mountains, four friends are searching for one they have lost. They know not where they are going, only that their friend, Shabwan, is alive. As they follow his path, something tracks theirs, and soon the four friends are in unimaginable danger. For Shabwan has killed along his way, something his friends can scarcely believe is possible, and now a vengeful creature, the likes of which they could never have imagined, will not rest until it has tasted his blood.
As the confrontations rage within the chamber, all eyes turn towards it. For any fool can see that it's about to break, and when it does, they will be ready.
