The Mail-Coach Passengers


The article was written by an author in 1861. It was very cold, the sky was full of stars, and not a breeze stirred. It was New Year’s Eve, and the church clock was striking twelve. In every house the New Year was being welcomed and as the clock struck, they stood up, the full glasses in their hands, to drink success to the newcomer. People were happy and satisfied - all over the town heard congratulatory voices: “Hurrah! Hurrah!” At that moment the vehicle stopped at the gate of the town there were twelve strange passengers in this vehicle. Who are they?
