The Everlasting Man

Frustrated with the attempts of men such as H.G. Wells to relate history without God, Chesterton presents his perspective on history in two parts: On the Creature Called Man, and On the Man Called Christ. He argues that the central character in history is Christ, and that no explanation other than the Christian one makes sense. The originality of his work makes Chesterton one of the first popular writers to thoroughly take to task his cultures casual dismissal of the divine as he presents a narrative that restores God to our understanding of history.
