Most of us believe that we will finally feel satisfied and content with our lives when we get the good news we have been waiting for, find a healthy relationship, or achieve one of our personal goals. However, this rarely happens. Good fortune is often followed by negative emotions that overtake us and result in destructive behaviors. "I don't…
Keita soon meets Sienna, a fellow prisoner who is just discovering her place in the Spectra world. The girls work together to escape, battling rockslides, camouflaged guards, and hidden traps. They are aided by Keita’s Sprite abilities, including sensing lives around her and changing to animal form, and Sienna’s powers over rock and earth. Two other princesses, Carli of the Coles and Zuri of the Mers, join them and add their unique abilities. They soon find out that all of them have different goals. While Carli and Zuri want to return to the other royals in hiding, while Sienna needs to stay and find her own family. Keita is torn between seeking her missing friends and family and helping this new kingdom, especially a colony of abandoned children and the small rebel group trying to protect them.

Jasper is still seeking Keita, which wouldn’t be so frightening if only she knew why. And something even worse is on their tail.
Before now, Keita’s choices didn’t seem to make a difference, not in her betrothal before the takeover, not in the attack that destroyed her home, not in the never-ending search for a safe place. But maybe she doesn’t need to change the world. If she can change herself, maybe, just maybe, things can work out.
