THE TIME FOR ME IS NOW

The best advice my mother ever gave me was you can be anything you want if you want it bad enough. The worst advice I gave her growing up was life sucks, then you die. Over the years, we each began to believe the other. Needless to say, we don’t always see eye-to-eye on a lot of the things I write about each week, but she is still there watching out for her first-born son.
The best advice my father gave me, was unintentional and unplanned. But it has probably been the push and guiding force of sorts for my mission in this whole motivational arena. My father passed away on a Saturday morning doing something I believe he truly enjoyed. That day, he showed me what living is supposed to be like.
It was about a year or so later when I began reading some of the inspirational books from people like Zig Ziglar, Les Brown, Tony Robbins and others. I don’t think I’ve ever read any of the 150 or so books I have all the way through. Being educated in the mass media area, maybe that’s where my short attention span was a bit of a disadvantage.
I wanted short bits I could read in a brief period of time. I wanted the facts as to what I was supposed to do to get out of the ruts I found myself in. Even a pep talk would have been a nice touch just to show me that I was not alone.
After years of paging through books, wanting to do something like what these guys were doing, (ok, I wanted to change the world), I decided to take a chance. That’s when I began “Qué Sera Sera,” the newsletter. This book comes from those columns.
Each column is more of a pep talk than it is a to-do list. Some of the columns won’t mean much of anything at different times in your life. But there will be others where (I hope) it feels as if I am talking just to you. This is by no means the end-all of how to make the most out of life, but just my bits of weekly advice in a rambling fashion.

IN SEARCH OF OURSELVES
This ebook was previously written as 5 separate columns in the “Que Sera Sera” newsletter. They became the starting set of columns for my former column at St. Louis Soup.com The response on the columns was so great, I knew I had to make them available. This is my way of hopefully getting you to think more about who you are and what you have to offer.
You see, we're good when it comes to looking at ourselves. We all "know" what we can't do well, don't like to eat, don't want to do or don't want to be when we grow up. But that's rarely the question. In an attempt to find out just who we are, and because we are so good at doing things backwards, we'll answer a slightly different question. It begins with finding out Who we are NOT!!!!
